Making your own candles is so much easier than it sounds! By now, you are most likely aware of my candle addiction. The first thing I do when I walk into my room or bathroom, is light a candle. It sets the mood, even when I’m by myself.
While in Tulum, I had dinner at a restaurant called “La Vela”, which translates to “the candle”. During a conversation with the owner, he mentioned that he made the hundreds of candles in the restaurant himself. I convinced him to give me a quick tutorial, and took home what I learned.
YOU WILL NEED:
- An empty candle
- Candle wicks
- Ecoffina Parafina Powder
Fill the cup with paraffin. Use a spoon or your hand.
I like it 3/4 full.
Place the wick in the middle of the candle, and make sure you push the wick to the very bottom.
Viola! Your candle is ready to be lit!
This was originally a pencil holder that I turned into a candle. I put 3 wicks to show diversity, and how its up to you to design your candle.
Add some flowers to your arrangement, and you’re set. I love mixing trays for small, finishing touches.
